LARSON Introduces ComfortSEAL Interior Windows; Improving Energy Efficiency and Creating Quiet Barriers

by June Eng | Jul 18, 2018

Brookings, South Dakota, July 18, 2018 – In its latest, patent-pending product innovation, Larson Manufacturing has launched ComfortSEALinterior windows designed to provide home or building owners with an extra layer of insulation to block drafts, reduce outside noise and increase energy efficiency.

Interior windows are installed inside an existing window on a home or a building. “ComfortSeal windows mount inside the window jamb and fit nearly any window size using only a few screws,” said Bruce Thomas, Larson Manufacturing director of business development. “A novice do-it-yourselfer can install the window in 10 minutes. And, the design features a tilt-in window for easy access and cleaning.”

ComfortSEAL windows reduce drafts, minimize temperature fluctuations, and when paired with Low-E glass, reduce harmful UV rays. They are available in multiple colors along with standard and custom sizes.

“Even though we live in a newer home, our basement was drafty during the winter, and we could hear outside noises including traffic and yardwork,” said Ila Kool, a homeowner and quilting enthusiast. “After installing ComfortSEAL windows, my work room is much more quiet and comfortable. Now, I spend more time enjoying my hobby in a nice cozy room without the distraction of neighborhood noises.”

Key ComfortSEAL Window Benefits
• Noise reduction inside the home – The patented sound seal creates a dead air space to trap sound, reducing outside noise up to 50 percent from airports, highways and vibrant urban neighborhoods.
• Energy savings and increased comfort – A bulb weather-strip presses inside the window frame for an air-tight seal reducing drafts and air leakage up to 75 percent, lowering heating and cool costs and increasing comfort inside the home.
• Energy Star and AERC ratings pending – Windows with the Low-E glass option to reduce harmful UV rays and heat gain inside the home are expected to qualify for Energy Star rating in the fall of 2018. Certification is also pending with the Attachments Energy Rating Council (AERC), an independent, non-profit organization that rates, labels and certifies the energy performance of window attachment products including storm windows, blinds, shades and shutters. Low-E glass can provide the potential of 12 to 22 percent annual heating and cooling savings according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
• Easy to retrofit – Available in a white, sandstone or brown finish; and single-hung, slider or fixed panel designs; most window shapes are easy to fit with standard or custom sizes.
• Easy to install – Can be installed in less than 10 minutes with a few screws.
• Easy to clean – Tilt-in feature makes it easy to wash windows.
• High quality – Limited lifetime warranty.
• Readily available – Can be purchased through the nationwide LARSON dealer network.
