Woo Hoo! What a Ride!
Well, Mother Nature didn’t quite keep up her end of the bargain on the morning of April 18th. However, we had an amazing turn out for the 9th Annual Max’s Ride & Concert for ALS! Misty rain covered the mornings registration but could not dampen the awesome spirit of DJ Sana and Family who once again volunteered their time and energy to Max’s Ride ALS. Our amazing Veterans came out to represent all branches of our Military. So honored to have them in attendance! A little rain dampened Opening Ceremonies a bit but the Travis High School Marching Band brought out some momentary sunshine with a wonderful rendition of our National Anthem.
As the bikes headed out for the ride, following behind (along with our Volunteer Chase Truck driver-Frank Brooks) was Every 90 Minutes Founder-Jay Smith and his beautiful family in a vintage show car. Every 90 Minutes teamed up with Max’s Ride ALS this year to help in the Fight to Strike Out ALS! Please check out their web site www.Every90Minutes.org
As Max’s Ride ALS volunteers packed up from Cowboy Harley-Davidson, the sun began to peek out from the clouds and by the time our Volunteers reached Scholz Garten, the sun was shining beautifully. Natural Causes was warming up and our incredible crew had the Silent Auction up and running!
Music, Motorcycles and a Salute to the Military-Max’s Ride & Concert for ALS is all of that and more…As the bikes rolled in off the Ride, Scholz was packed with ALS Supporters from all around the Country. When the bikes arrived at Scholz, we headed out into the street to watch them roll in as Natural Causes Band kicked into “Born to Be Wild”. Smiles all around from our APD Police Escorts all the way through to the Smith Family. Love to see the Smiles!
A huge Thank You to everyone who played a part in the 9th Annual Max’s Ride & Concert for ALS! This event is a total TEAM EFFORT in the fight to Strike Out ALS! We reached our goal of $28,000 in donations with the support of many generous Bikers, Sponsors and Volunteers. However, the value of the smiles across the faces throughout the event, PRICELESS!
Mark your calender…10th Annual Max’s Ride & Concert for ALS is scheduled for April 16, 2016! Our 10th year it will be AWESOME! THANK YOU!
